NOLA on Tap will be held at City Park’s Festival Grounds on Friedrichs Ave. A beautiful spot for a beer festival!
Plenty of historic oak trees and space to stretch out and enjoy the music while sampling over 400 incredible beers. See the map below.
Q: How does entry work?
A: There are 2 options for entry:
- General Admission: $5
- Access into the event starting at 1:00pm
- Kids 12 and under are FREE
- VIP Admission – $25
- Admission at NOON, All day access to VIP Tent
- MUST BE 21 TO ENTER VIP TENT
Q: How do the packages work?
A: Fest Packages can be purchased in advance (online only) or at the event, and then redeemed for drinks, food, NOLA on Tap branded merchandise and Raffle. We are implementing a new system for credits, known as “Bocks” that will enhance the festival experience. While you can add $10 Bocks to $1,000 Bocks on your wristband, we recommend starting off with one of the suggested presale Fest Packages. Pricing of the beers will be offered as follows:

- 3oz sample pours will range from 1-3 Bocks. (Most commercial beers will be 1 Bock, while Homebrew and more rare commercial beers will be 2 Bocks, with some really rare commercial beers will be 3 Bocks.)
- 9oz full pours from commercial beers will range from 3-7 Bocks.
- 3oz Homebrew and Brewpub pours are 2 Bocks each.
Q: Can I buy the whole beer?
A: Yes, some commercial beers are available in a 9 oz. pour for additional Bocks. See above.
Q: What is included with the VIP pass?
A: All VIP’s receive early admission at noon, access to exclusive beers (Bocks are still required to sample), NOLA on Tap koozie, VIP-only restrooms and handwash station, Mist Works Cool Misters, special seating courtesy of Bratz Y’all, cell phone charging station powered by Solar Alternatives and the chance to meet brewers in the VIP area. VIP is for only patrons 21 and older. Sorry, no children.
Q: Will there be food?
A: Yes, we will have several local vendors featuring a variety of festival food available for purchase with Bocks. Expect food prices to average 5-10 Bocks.
Q: Will there be festival vendors?
A: Yes, we will have a variety of art & merchandise vendors featured this year. For a list of participating vendors, please visit our festival vendors page. You will not be able to use Bocks for these, but actual money/credit cards.
Q: Can I bring in outside drinks and food?
A: No, this is a fundraiser for the Louisiana SPCA and we appreciate your consideration for helping the animals.
Q: What about parking?
A: Parking will be limited within City Park, so we suggest public transportation, cabs, ride share programs, carpooling and biking to the event. There will also be a bicycle parking lot provided by Bike Easy. No parking will be allowed on the grass by the streets (hidden sprinkler systems could be damaged) or on the Big Lake Lawn area. Violators will be towed at owner’s expense.
Q: How do you monitor underage drinking?
A: Everyone will need to have their IDs scanned at the entrance and receive a wristband. Only NOLA on Tap attendees with wristbands may purchase or consume alcohol.
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Sure, but no aggressive dogs allowed. All dogs must be leashed, and please make sure they have a safe way home.
Q: Is the event family friendly?
A: Yes, we have food and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase with Bocks.
Q: Can I bring in folding chairs or blankets?
A: Yes, there will be live music so more reason to make yourself comfortable.
Q: What about the weather?
A: Updates on the weather will be provided as we are closer to the event.
Q: What if I do not like beer?
A: That’s fine; we also have wine, margaritas and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase with Bocks.
CASHLESS PAYMENT FAQ’s
Q: What is “cashless” payment and how does it work?
A: Our cashless payment system operates in a similar manner to pre-paid cards. At NOLA on Tap, we will be using high tech, RFID-enabled wristbands that include an embedded electronic chip in the RFID tag that will act as your key to pay for food, drinks, and NOLA on Tap merchandise at the event.
You will need to first create your cashless account, link your wristband information, and load pre-paid credits into your account (refer to the Step-by-Step Instructions).
To make a purchase, tap your wristband on an RFID reader located at each vendor stand to open a transaction. Place your order with the vendor staff. To confirm and close the transaction, you will be required to use the same wristband to tap a second time. The order amount will automatically be deducted from your account.
Q: How does cashless payment benefit me?
A: Cashless payment technology offers many benefits including:
- Faster transaction times
- Reduced wait time and line-ups
- Super convenient; no need reach for your wallet for every purchase or fumble through change/tokens
- Efficient and saves time through pre-top-up and auto top-up; no need to hit the ATM
- Safe and secure
- Overall, an enhanced guest experience!
Q: Why should I register my wristband?
A: Creating an account and registering your wristband is not mandatory. However, by signing up and linking your wristband, you gain access to cool online features such as adding credit into your account to avoid lines at the event, track your onsite purchases, and receive an automatic refund.
NOLA on Tap is not responsible for lost or stolen wristbands. However, if you’ve created an account and linked your wristband in advance, we will be able to cancel and reissue you a new wristband at no cost to you. So we recommend you play it safe and register!
Q: I bought multiple tickets/wristbands, do I need to create multiple accounts?
A: Register a new account for each wristband if you want to keep your spending separate. Assign a wristband to each of your festival buddies and have them each create a new account.
FYI – If you add two or more wristbands into the same account, this is called a “Shared Family Account”, and all linked wristbands will be able to make purchases using the same pool of funds in the account. You will NOT be able to separate or specify spending amounts for each wristband.
Q: How do I add credits to my account at the festival?
A: You can top-up at one of the onsite Top-Up Stations located throughout the event grounds. However, vendor stands will not be able to top-up for you, so make sure you have enough credit on your account before making purchases. Trained staff will be on-hand to help you through the process.
You can also top-up online.
Q: Can I transfer my credits from my wristband to another one?
A: No, unfortunately you cannot transfer credits once they are in your personalized account. However, any leftover credit will be refunded to you in accordance to our refund policy.
Q: I’m going to the festival with a family member / friend and we want to share credits from the same account instead of having two accounts. Is that possible?
A: Yes, if you add two or more wristbands into the same account, this is called a “Shared Family Account”. All linked wristbands will be able to make purchases using the same pool of funds in the account. You will NOT be able to separate or specify spending amounts for each wristband.
Make sure you want to share your credit before you link multiple wristbands. Once a wristband is added to an account, you won’t be able to create a new account for that wristband or transfer it to another account.
Q: Can I split the cost of something with a friend?
A: No, unfortunately you cannot split payment for an item. Only one wristband can be used to open the transaction, and that same wristband must be used to close and confirm the purchase. This is a security feature to ensure the purchaser is in control of their own spending.
Q: I’ve lost my wristband! What should I do?
A: If you’ve created an account online and linked your wristband to it, no worries! Visit Customer Service at the event and they will deactivate your lost wristband and issue you a new one. Please bring valid photo ID. Link the new wristband number to your account and continue having a great time – your money is still on your account if you’ve previously linked it.
However, if you did NOT create an online account and did not link your wristband to the account, unfortunately your remaining credit balance can no longer be retrieved. To get a replacement wristband, visit a Customer Service Station and show proof of your original event ticket purchase along with valid photo ID. If someone else bought the tickets on your behalf, you will need to bring the original purchaser with you to the station and show proof of purchase along with valid photo ID. Replacement wristbands will be issued at the discretion of the Customer Service Representative.
To avoid this issue, we strongly recommend you create an account and link your wristbands to that account prior to the festival. Treat your wristband the same way you would treat cash! We are not responsible for any funds stolen / missing from your wristband if you lose it.
Q: What if I have leftover credit at the end of the event? What is your refund policy?
A: All credit left unredeemed by the end of the festival will be refunded in accordance with the terms below:
- Credit and Debit Card: Leftover funds on your account purchased online or onsite at the event using a credit or debit card will automatically be refunded back to your card (less a $5.00 processing fee) within 10 business days following the end of the event.
- Cash: Leftover funds on your account purchased onsite at the event using debit card or cash will require you to complete a Manual Refund in your online account page (less a $5.00 processing fee). The deadline to apply for a manual refund is October 8, 2016.
Additional Terms Applied to All Regions:
- All refunds are subject to a $5.00 refund processing fee.
- Refund processing is subject to verification of the data inputted by the guest in the Manual Refund Form. The guest is responsible for submitting accurate data.
- The deadline to apply for a Manual Refund is October 8, 2016.
- Refunds will not be made onsite
